Over the past two decades, we’ve received a lot of interesting requests for custom tissue preparations here at XenoTech.
“We’ve successfully prepared a wide range of tissue, cells and subcellular fractions from a wide variety of mammals, and recently from insects,” commented Zell Woodworth, Products Division Director for XenoTech. You can view a list on our website of some of the unique species, tissues and cellular preparations as well as characterization assays that we’ve performed.
“Isolating kidney membrane fraction and urothelial cells was an interesting and new challenge,” stated Stephanie Helmstetter, Senior Manager of Production and Quality Control at XenoTech. She continued, “Preparing skin S9 has also been a challenge due to the nature of the tissue, but we recently developed a new method that has streamlined the process.”
Woodworth explained, “When we see a lot of interest in a particular organ or cell type, then we standardize the methods and add the product to our catalog.” Recent examples of this include skin S9, human lysosomes and rat tritosomes.
All of this experience in unique cell preparation allows us to get the most out of each and every tissue. As a result, we often have surplus inventory of products remaining from our custom cell preparations. You can see what’s available here.
All of XenoTech’s custom product preparations are managed by a dedicated Senior Production Scientist to ensure the highest quality for each custom request. We use custom-designed preparation methods and offer more than 40 characterization assays validated by LC-MS/MS.
XenoTech has also collaborated with other companies and research institutions to develop new products and work together to benefit scientific research. If you would like to discuss a collaboration with us, please contact us.
